The times in India are changing as India is becoming more of a global player with increasing tie-ups with not just neighboring nations but also having co-operations with American and European countries and companies.
With economy booming and increasing foreign students and visitors the country has seen its fair share of terror attacks and international disputes in balance of power in the national/regional politics.
The Oxford Of The East And Terror Issues:
Pune city so called “The Oxford Of The East” with its high level education system and rich cultural heritage with booming Information Technology is ever green and booming time after time. With strong Maratha Empire with also British Era historically being in one place the education and cultural has showing well balance and kept the traditional festivals up to date. Giving it a second title of “Cultural Capital Of Maharashtra”
Its a wonderful city, favorite amongst Indian students and overseas.
With over 30,000 foreign students studying, its one place in India which confuses other state visitors as the large mix of Indian and Foreign nationals living just like locals most time is a sight that shows how close the world has become.
I like my city like everyone else and my home town Koregaon Park was always famous for its Osho International Community Center which attacked foreign meditation learners to appear in large numbers. Soon this place was not a small town any more as it became developed in less than 10 years, with international cuisine restaurants in large numbers to 5 Star hotels, closed party centers gathering place and even I.T company’s booming outback.
But all that also attracted negative terror groups and made it a easy target.
Pune has got several warnings on terror attacks and like always the government was late to boost their security and just before January 27th Independence day there was a similar warning and so the security in Koregaon Park was high, with barricades and check posts set-up on entry and exist of the town. The celebrations passed with easy and after 30th January the security forces had all ready left their posts.
Germany Bakery Blast Case:
On Feburary 13 2010 7:15 pm a terrorist attack took place in German Bakery and was one of the worst types in India and so called the 2010 Pune Bombing.
The bomb blast was so loud that my window curtains flew off and the sound was heard over 3 kilometres. With 16 people killed and over 60 people injured, the paradise was under fire with sadness and outcry heard all over India and over the world through various social media like Twitter, Facebook. With Twitter users being the first to talk on the exact blast thing and following a new social media era in India. People lifted them self up with all their Indian and international friends and made it all seem like unaffected much but did use modern social methods to make unity.
Modern Social Media Pune, India Era:

Sahil and Shrinath on CNN-ibn
Facebook Group Rebuilding German Bakery Started By @MrShri along with @Sahilk started a new way for people to come together and join hands to promote peace amongst everyone. The group is currently supported by 7,000+ members in India and from around the world and has organized successful Pune Peace Walk in 2-18-2010. Click here to check its uncut pictures.
From that day onwards the security in Koreagaon Park has become super tight and also all around the rest of Pune, as the wake up call has made huge government or corporafe changes in its security planning and increases the number of Police officers and used advanced international patrolling methods. See the Pune Police website for more on it.
Not to mention they also take traffic reports on their Facebook Fan Page. Which is like first one in India. Just take picture of any rule breaker, upload it over there with short info and they file the case with the close HQ.
I really welcome this modern use of social media for reporting and encourage everyone in India and other places in world to use such systems.
Pune has a popular modern urban crowd which is well adoptive to international websites like Facebook, Twitter, Google and the new FourSquare location based social network.
Even the FourSquarePune is pretty famous world wide.
The Official home of Foursquare Day Pune which took place on 16th April 2010, unlocking India’s first SWARM badge.
Order Food Online :
We even have a huge number of Chinese food places in Pune with social online maps now in India for easy navigation and connectivity. Order Faasos roll by Twitter, or some Pizza Hut from DTH TV systems.
So to end my blog post which now seems like some magazine article, I would like to suggest everyone on using social media in the right way and bring this world more close to each other by using modern methods and never giving up on their cultural roots.
Welcome to my Pune city someday and The Future International City In India. Welcome to India if your from outside India ![]()
Peace On Earth.
Best regards,
Anand Nav

Some company’s and people just do not understand it and leave it behind. It creates a black whole as the making of mistakes increases, which eventually the company or brand cannot handle in long run and eventually the company’s business, work and plans become non existent (dead).
